Community Habilitation

Comm-hab is a service for individuals that is provide either in their home or in the community. Comm-hab assists consumers in becoming more independent in areas of daily living skills. Staff may work with consumers on cooking skills, laundry skills, shopping, money management, use of community recreational services, etc. Each consumer receives an individualized plan that reflects their personal goals and provides steps to achieve them.

Respite Services

Respite services provide temporary relief to individuals who are responsible for the primary care and support of an individual with a developmental disability. Respite services can be provided in or out of the home, during the day, evenings, or at night. Respite staff take the place of the caregiver for specific periods of time and as a result lessen the daily demands of care giving for the provider.

Prevocational Services

Keon's Prevocational program offers each consumer the opportunity to their individual barriers that will help take them to the next step towards competitive employment. Case Managers and Pre-voc trainers partner up to work with each individual by providing any support needed to achieve their goals. Prevoc training also includes our job readiness classes which are designed to build on consumers' existing skills, giving them an edge for outside employment. Our job readiness classes include Reading Skills, Math Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Maintenance Training, Self-Advocacy and Publication in the form of the Keon Center newsletter.

Dennis Keon

This Site is Dedicated
to the Memory of
Dennis Keon.

Dennis was one of our original consumers, and we had the pleasure of sharing his life for over 50 years.

Dennis' family were pioneers. They raised Dennis at home and he truly became an active part of the community. We are named after Dennis' father who was instrumental in giving us the brick & mortar of our first school.

While we have grown over the years from a school to an agency now serving disabled adults in a variety of programs, we have maintained the Keon name to honor the efforts put forth by Dennis' family in fostering the dream of community living and reaching goals that at the time seemed unreachable.

We are truly blessed for all that Dennis gave over the years. He will always be with us.

Go Yankees!
